The journey to the goal is what tests the person, seeing if they are worthy of the goal. The larger the goal, the more difficult and longer the journey will be. One must earn what they dream of through hard work and determination, because that builds character and defines who you really are.
If everyone achieved everything that they wanted within seconds of thinking it, the world would be in utter chaos. Obstacles, though annoying, are a very important part of the journey, because without obstacles, there would be no journey, and no one would develop as a person.
If there was no work, would the reward be that great? If there was no pain, would there be pleasure?
If a person was given everything they wanted their whole life eventually nothing would satisfy them, because they did not experience the blood and sweat put into getting that reward, therefore turning them into a very shallow person.
This is why we need goals and we need to persist until we complete them, because the harder it was to achieve it, the better it will feel when you actually have it. This kind of person can understand a deeper meaning of anything because they understand what people have gone through to get things, and in turn appreciate life all that more. A person who can appreciate everything for what it is, is a good person indeed.

Subconscious Thought
Lately I've discovers this second level of thought that I have. I'm pretty sure that every one else has this too because I think it's our subconscious thought, you know, the little feelings you get, opposed to the actual words in your head while you think.
I discovers this one day when I was thinking about quick decsions, like reactions and prioritizing who to shoot in video games. When doing those things you don't have time to actually think about the action you should do to counter what just happened.
Now one will always do the same reaction unless he actually focuses on doing a different one. I'll use an standard first person shooter game for an example.
Now say you run into 2 bad guys, one a standard soldier and the other a sniper. Your lucky enough to catch them facing away shooting friendlies and the sniper is further away from you then the standard enemy. A newbies first reaction would be to shoot at the guy in front of him, but a seasoned veteren would tell you to get the sniper, because he is a larger threat to the team.
It seems that if one wants to react a certain way to a certain event, they must know what the desired reaction is and must train themselves to do so.

Goals
What I've recently realized is that everyone has to have goals. It seems like some sort of human nature thing that's been implanted into our minds. I find that if I don't have something to do that I quickly get bored and really annoyed.
This is what has made humans so succesful as a species though. Propelling us to be better and competing between ourselves has pushed us to where we are right now.
I think we may have this "must do something" attitude because of our expanded minds. With the capacity to be able to think of ideas and set goals, we want to be able to flesh them out, see the outcome of our goals.
This leads into another thing that humans are well known about, curiosity. With curiosity we are encouraged to discover and invent a variety of different things to help us.
With our ability to imagine and set goals, and our curiousity driving us to meet them, we have become the most prodominent species our planet has ever seen.

Let's start this off
This is my first try at blogging, and my aim is to make quality posts. I came up with the name Pondering About Thinking because I often think, and think why we think, and these posts will be ablout things that have gone through my head.
Let me first introduce myself. My name is Sebastian and commonly use the name Sebasterbator( my friend made up the name one day) online. I've lived in Canada for most of my life and still live there. I enjoy playing video games, hanging with friends and being outside.
The internet has been a very large part of my life due to the genereration I grew up in and the fact that I'm typically a quiet guy. From lurking forums to searching for cheat codes, I've gone to the scum of the Internet and back again. I always heard about blogging and how popular it was becoming but never looked at one nor tried it out( until now).
The main reason I'm posting a blog is I'm try to find my way of expressing myself( because everyone needs a way to do that in my opinion) and getting those thoughts in my head out of there. Since I'm not a big talker and I'm not fond of "expressing my feelings", I don't get many chances to do that. So here I go
